What We Do
We all have a role to play in the growing movement to end genocide, and so, United to End Genocide is set up in a way that makes it as easy as possible for you to join, participate, and take effective action in concert with hundreds of thousands of others who share our concerns and our sense of urgency. We’re the place you can come for information and opportunities to take action that will make our elected leaders respond effectively. Acting together, we can
- Make human rights and genocide prevention core values in U.S. foreign policy
- Ensure justice for victims and accountability for perpetrators of mass atrocities
- Stop those who would commit, aid or abet genocide or mass atrocities
In the next decade, our challenge is to create a permanent voice, a sustainable movement of grassroots leaders and activists, students and genocide survivors, faith leaders and policy experts that can change the way our country and others prioritize and act on our responsibility to protect anyone, anywhere, who is threatened by genocide or mass atrocities.
Join us in our work, as we:
- Continue our efforts on Sudan, working for a peaceful resolution to the crisis in Darfur and to prevent and stop large-scale violence against civilians throughout North and South Sudan.
- Closely monitor and analyze situations to determine where a mass atrocity might develop, then educate and mobilize activists and partner organizations to sound the alarm so that our elected leaders demonstrate the moral leadership to prevent emerging crises from escalating.
- Work to pass and implement the first-ever genocide prevention law that will help ensure our government has the resources and knowledge to spot, analyze and prevent potential genocide and mass atrocities.
